“The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night” – Psalm 121: 5-6 (NKJV)
You will know at the minute we are experiencing a huge heat wave.
Some of you will love this, for others it’s just too hot!
All you will want to do is find the nearest bit of shade and sit under it and cool down, because the sun is burning you and wearing you down so quickly and you just can’t stand the heat.
Well, it can be like this too sometimes in our lives, we can feel that the really tough stuff we go through is just like the ‘sun’ burning us and wearing us down and it gets just too much for us to take. It might feel right now that the problems in your family are just too big and you don’t know how you are going to cope, that you’re exam results aren’t going to be as good as expected and that you’ll fail them, I’m sure this list could go on. . .
But whatever you’re going through, whatever is ‘burning’ you, whatever’s wearing you down in life right now, the Bible already gives the answer to what you’re facing.
It says here in today’s verse that ‘the Lord is your keeper’, He looks after you, He protects you, He’s like your shade and He covers you when you’re right in the middle of stuff that’s ‘burning’ you.
Cube Challenge: Take ten minutes out today – tell God all of the things that are ‘burning’ you or wearing you down and ask Him to be your shade, so you know His peace, protection and presence in the middle of what you’re facing.
