“But if you suffer because you are a Christian, do not be ashamed. Praise God because you wear that name.” 1 Peter 4:16 (NCV)
In Cube we can shout our passion for God, but it can be so much harder on a Monday morning at school, college or Uni when our mates who don’t know God come against us. They might laugh at us, exclude us, and even bully us in some cases. Following Jesus is absolutely amazing, but it isn’t always a piece of cake, sometimes we have to face the tough stuff of people coming against us for the faith we believe in. When people come against it can be easy to duck out, back down, give in or be shy when it comes to sharing our faith and living pure in God. But this verse here encourages us. It says when we suffer for Jesus, we shouldn’t be ashamed. Instead count it a privilege, count it a blessing that the darkness in people around us would be offended by the light in you. Decide to make a stand for Jesus, not to be moved. Live true to the name Christian, wear the badge and wear it with pride.
Cube Challenge: Ask God for courage, so you stand firm against the temptations of the world and from the pressure from your mates, that you stand firm to what you believe and so you’re not ashamed.
