It’s all about Him

about him

“All things were made through Christ and for Christ. He was there before anything was made, and all things continue because of Him.” Colossians 1:16-17 (NCV)

In life it can often be so easy to think everything is all about us.

We can be so easily focused on our lives, our problems, our family situation, our own worries, our fears, our projects and generally caught up in our little world that we loose sight of the bigger picture.

You may ask, what is the bigger picture? Well, today’s verse gives us some clues. It talks about how everything was made because of Jesus, through Jesus and for Jesus. Our lives, our world, this universe even is all about Jesus. He is God. God is the creator and the One who holds together the universe, the planets, this world and indeed even our own little world.

Allow this truth to grip you –  a really small shrinking feeling should come over you, when you realize that at the end of the day, nothing everything is about you! That is life isn’t about your feelings, your worries, your problems, your emotions and fears, but it’s all about Him, it’s all about Jesus. Your life should be to honour, bring praise to and lift up Jesus first and foremost!

This all means, we needn’t focus on our problems, on our own little world but focus on Jesus and how awesome He actually is. When you do this, you see the bigger picture, and it means the things you face that look huge right now, are actually tiny compared to Jesus and His power.

Someone once said; ‘If you’re all wrapped up in yourself, you make a pretty small package’ –  so don’t look to yourself and what you face today – but look to Jesus
