Rise up

rise up

“Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.” Micah 7:8 (NIV)

So often in the Christian journey we can face so many frustrations. Especially, when have been doing so well spiritually and then we fall again.

For example, you could have prayed and prayed and seen a real breakthrough in one particular area of your life; overcoming a bad habit, seeing victory over an illness, conquering a particular sin you have struggled with and after having lived in success for so long you mess us again in that area – or the pain returns, the problem comes back, whatever it may be.

When this happens it can be so discouraging, it can be so tempting to give up the fight, to quit the race, to be passive and defeated. But God loves you crazily, He’s mad about you, He’s full of kindness and grace, He will forgive you, He will renew you, He will heal you, His hand is outstretched towards you and He wants to pull you out of your pit.

Even though you might feel spiritually like a failure, like throwing in the towel, like you were never healed, set free or changed in the first place – God wants to come and help you to rise up, when you fall into darkness He will pick you up, dust you off, clean you up and cause you to stand again and live in His light.

Cube Challenge: Be sure to remember – when you mess up, fall down again, go back to the same problem – don’t be down or discouraged, but look to God, ask for His forgiveness, His help or His healing – He will help you up again, and you will see His light.
