Here comes trouble

here comes trouble

“In this world you will have trouble, but be brave! I have defeated the world” John 16:33 (NCV)

Have you ever heard the saying; ‘here comes trouble?’.

It’s often used as a joke to refer to a child who has a reputation for being naughty, people might say, ‘oh, here comes trouble’.

But in this context it means something a little more literal. In the Bible Jesus here is literally saying that because you live in a world that has been affected by sin, that you will face trouble. Sadly, being a Christian doesn’t mean you’ll never have problems or go through tough stuff in life. You may be going through a tough time right now at school, college, at home or with your mates. But this great Bible verse doesn’t end there, it doesn’t just say you’ll have trouble, but it says that Jesus has already defeated the world. You may say what does this mean?

Well, it means that Jesus has already won for you eternal life, so the troubles and cares of this world that seem to weight you down, no longer have any hold of you, because now that you have faith in Jesus, you’re destined for bigger and better things – eternal life with Him, wow! That shrinks your troubles down to size doesn’t it?

Cube Challenge: Ask God today to make you brave and stand firm in the middle of the troubles you’re facing and see the bigger picture of eternal life with Him.

If your life is going well, then pray that God would help people you know that are having a hard time right now to be brave and stand firm in Him.
