Be Wise

be wise

“Be wise in the way you act with people who are not believers, making the most of every opportunity.”

Colossians 4:5 (NCV)

When you get the chance to hang out with your mates what kind of stuff to do you chat about; the latest film, the newest chart-topping track, your favourite app, school life, or just general randomness??

Whatever you chat about to your mates who don’t know God, it’s so key that you’re wise when you do. Today’s verse from the Bible tells us to be wise in the way you act with people who are not believers, so that you make the most of every opportunity. In this life we only get one crack at it, there is no dress rehearsal, this is it.

It’s so key to be a great influence on your non-Christian mates for Christ, being mindful that the things you say have an effect on them. It’s so important that you intentionally try to be the best influence you can be on their lives. You’ve only got ONE LIFE to really affect your mates for Jesus, so they might spend their eternity with Him.

The next time you’re tempted to follow suit with them and tell dirty jokes, gossip about someone, speak negative, be sure to make a stand and chose to be different. You might stand out and you will probably get mocked for it, but in turn your mates will probably start to see  you as someone who is honest, someone to go when they need help and someone they can rely on – it’s Jesus in you that can be this great light. So, be wise – you’ve only got ONE LIFE – live it all out for Jesus!

Cube Challenge:  Next time your with your mates who don’t yet know God, think of ways you can be different and make a stand for God with how you act and talk – be wise and shout God!
