Be Kind

be kind

“When you talk, you should always be kind and pleasant so you will be able to answer everyone in the way you should.”  Colossians 4:6 (NCV)

Have you ever found yourself talking to someone and you blurt something out in frustration and find yourself afterwards thinking, ‘I shouldn’t have said that’. It can be easy sometimes to say things we shouldn’t and then quickly regret it. We need to be careful with our words in what we say and how we say them.

Today’s verse says when you talk, you should always be kind and pleasant. It’s so key that we are intentional with our words; our words are powerful tools for either pulling people down, speaking negativity or critical things or they can be used for encouraging, speaking life, speaking hope or speaking faith into someone’s heart.

In all the conversations you have today and people you meet, be sure to intentionally speak kind and pleasant words, intentionally honour those who you speak to – by honouring people you give honour to God.

Cube challenge: Think of ways you can speak kind words into peoples’ lives this weekend. Make a big stand for Jesus, by speaking well of others. Be kind with your words!
