“So don’t worry, because I am with you. Don’t be afraid, because I am your God.” Isaiah 41:10a (NCV)
This verse can often remind of us when we were children and our parents would say things to us to help when we get upset. Your parents may have said things like ‘calm down’, ‘stop crying’. This may have seemed impossible at the time in the middle of the stuff we faced, but the more they said it, the more we would finally give in to what they said.
These loving and caring words can remind us that being angry or upset is not the most helpful thing for every situation. As a child if we stayed crying or upset all the time we wouldn’t get through the day. This is like how God is with us, He is so much bigger than what we are facing. For us to get through to day and do well in life, when we are at school, college or at work, there is no room for us to be afraid or discouraged. We need to remember that God is on our side. He is our heavenly Father, and He encourages us in love and shows us the best way to live.
Cube challenge: Spend an extra half an hour than you normally would with God. Press into Him, as you get closer to God you will be more able to know when He speaks. When God speaks He will give you needed encouragement, help and strength when you need it the most.
