Don’t forget it

dont forget it

I will meditate on the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works. Men shall speak of the might of your awesome acts, and I will declare your greatness”- Psalm 145: 5-6 (NKJV)

In life it can be so easy to forget things can’t it?

Forgetting to bring your homework into school, forgetting your house keys, forgetting to take the dog out for a walk – we find ourselves forgetting things all the time. We can see the same thing too in our walk with God; we can so easily forget the greatness and awesomeness of God and forget all the great things He’s done in our lives and in the lives of others.

The Bible here uses the word ‘meditate’, which simply means to think about or to think over. The Bible here describes a great cure for ‘spiritual forgetfulness’; If we keep on thinking about who God is and what He’s done, this will we keep us full of God and consistently burning for Him.

When we get in the habit of ‘meditating’ on God-stuff , we’ll soon start to really ‘shout’ God to our friends, family and school mates, and like the writer of this Bible verse we’ll be able to say ‘I will declare your greatness’.

Cube Challenge: Take a couple of minutes today to ‘meditate’ on (think about) who God is and what He’s done (in your life). If nothing comes to mind, pick a favorite Bible verse or a story of your favorite ‘Hero of the faith’ and get thinking about what God can do – if He can do great stuff in some else’s life – He can do it in yours!
