“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
God’s love is amazing; it’s extravagant, over-the-top and unconditional. God’s love can reach us at our weakest and worst, and it’s not like the love that the world gives. You might often hear people say things like “I will only be nice to them if they are nice to me”, or “why should I be kind to them”?
But know this; God is not like that. He doesn’t just love those who are nice in return or are worth loving.
We see in Jesus a love and compassion that loves the hurting, broken and unlovely. Jesus reached out to those who were lost, and in darkness, He ministered to groups that the religious and self-righteous wouldn’t. We need to remember this awesome truth that when we were still sinners, or you could say, when we were still lost in darkness and without hope and without Christ, in those moments Jesus died for us. Jesus saw us at our worst and still though we were worth taking nails for, dripping sweat drops of blood for and being hung upon a cross. He loves you this much.
Cube challenge: Ask God to show afresh just how much He loves today. Spend at least 20 minutes along with Him- He will show you and give you fresh revelation about His love. When you get this, it shrinks your problems down to size.
