“But I say to you, love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you.” – Matthew 5:44-45 (NCV)
Ever found yourself in a situation when you find yourself betrayed, hurt and bitter?
Sometimes in life it can be those closest to us who we trust the most, that when they let us down in a big way it destroys us on the inside. Maybe you’ve been through something like this yourself or have seen this in someone else’s life. You will know how much it can eat away at you, and it can seem impossible to forgive them, all you want is to get them back, is to get revenge.
Today’s verse however says, love your enemies, pray for those who hurt you. This is impossible and unnatural to achieve in our own strength, we need the help of the Holy Spirit to work through us to forgive others who hurt and betray us. Only He can supernaturally help us overcome the deep pit of hurt to bring freedom and healing into our hearts, but it starts by making a decision to pray for those who have hurt you.
Cube Challenge: Have some time today alone with God and think of those who may have hurt you in the past.
Pray for those people who hurt you, and as you do, ask God to supernaturally help you. He will release His power to forgive. When you do this you will know an amazing release of God’s peace and freedom in your life starting from today!
