Be, don’t do!

freedom from the law

We have freedom now, because Christ made us free. So stand strong. Do not change and go back into the slavery of the law.” Galatians 5:1 (NCV)

Some times in our Christian walk we can fall in the trap of thinking that being a Christian is all about keeping a whole load of different rules and copying certain behavior,  “Do this, do this, don’t do that, do the other, you must do this”. It can seem like there is an endless lists of rules we have to obey to become a Christian. But this Bible verse is saying we shouldn’t go back into the slavery of the law, this simply means that to come to God, to have a relationship with the God who created you, is not about keeping rules, but more about falling in love with Jesus.

It’s about going all out crazy for what’s Jesus has done for us, instead of what we can do for God. We need to come to God just as we are with all our junk, all our problems and issues and look to Jesus, worship Jesus, serve Him and He begins to change us on the inside.

Cube Challenge: Take 20 minutes out today, spend some time alone with Jesus, worship to your favorite Christian song and pray, as you do the presence of God will change and refresh you.
