My voice you shall hear in the morning O lord, In the morning I will direct it to you, and I will look up’. Psalm 5v3 (NKJV)
Are you a morning person or an evening person?
Everyone is different when it comes to how alive they are or are not in the mornings. Some people seem to spring out of bed and be so awake, alive and chatty and yet others are half-asleep for most of the morning, yet they come alive at night. Whether you prefer the morning or evening, today’s verse is still showing us the importance of getting up that little bit earlier each morning and devoting your day to the Lord.
You will never know what kind of day you’re going to have before you have it, will you? You won’t know all of the challenges you’ll face or the different things that you’ll come up against that day. But you can start the day right by turning your attention to God every morning as part of your daily tasks.
This however, doesn’t mean that praying to God or worshiping Him in the mornings before you start the day is a chore, but it is important to have a set discipline of doing this every day, so you can get your daily priorities right. If you put God first, everything else will fit into place, because after you pray and spend time with God, you’ll receive strength from being in His presence, you’ll feel more peaceful, more patient more loving and in general, stronger and more like Jesus, giving you the strength and help you need to get through the day and to do it well.
Cube Challenge: Tonight, be sure to set your alarm at least 25 minutes earlier than normal to spend time with God tomorrow morning. Keep this pattern going every day, and you will see the change as you as grow more consistent in your journey with God.
