Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Psalm 103v1 (NIV)
Have you ever spent time talking to yourself?
People will probably think that you are a bit strange if you do, it’s not always the ‘normal’ thing to do. But as strange as this thing is, the Bible actually encourages us to talk to ourselves! Crazy or what?
In this Bible verse the writer is encouraging us to shout out our praises to God, because of His greatness and His goodness to us. But thing is we need to be people who like the writer of this Psalm are determined to speak to ourselves, to speak to our own soul and tell ourselves to praise the Lord even when we don’t feel like it.
Your week may have been a total train wreck so far, you may feel like your world is about to collapse, but be sure to give God your praise and thanks, even if you don’t feel like it. Tell yourself to do this, it won’t happen automatically.
But the truth is when you do this when you don’t feel it, you’ll find that God will hear you, He will come and meet you, you’ll find His presence, and power and strength in your life, and you will be lifted in your heart. Remember to praise God even when you don’t feel like it, speak to your own soul, tell yourself to praise Him, talk to yourself!
