“The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord raises those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous’ – Psalm 146:8 (NKJV)
This Bible verse here talks about how ‘the Lord loves the righteous’ – the word ‘righteous’ isn’t a word we use loads nowadays, but it simply means to do the right thing.
A lot of people today on the TV, the internet, in books and magazines give their opinion on what it means to do the ‘right thing’ when it comes to the way we think, act, live or speak, but the great God who made everything gives His opinion on how to live in the Bible.
Because God loves us so much, it so important that we live according to how He says we should live, that we live right before God.
It’s like this, when you’re parents have spoilt you by buying you a really nice birthday present or take you away on a really fun holiday, our natural response really should be to be nice to them in return.
Some of us might do stuff like wash the car for our Dad, make your parents breakfast in bed, send a ‘thank you’ card or tidy the house, just as a way of thanking them.
It should be like this too in our walk with God – because He loves us so much and has done so much for us, we should life a life that pleases Him in how we think, act and speak – in what we watch, which conversations or Facebook chats we let ourselves get drawn into, it literally shapes how we live. So be sure to live for God and to live right.
