“Jesus is the only one who can save people. His name is the only power in the world that has been given to save people. We must be saved through Him.” Acts 4:12 (NCV)
Ever felt like you’re in a pit? Not literally of course, but spiritually. Where you feel down, discouraged and defeated, where there seems to be no way up? So often in these situations, we can look to the advice and help of family, friends, leaders or other church mates. Help from these people isn’t always wrong and God can use people to really speak into our lives. But in the end, it’s only Jesus who can truly lift us up out the pit, up out of the stuff we’re going though, out of the ‘hole’ we find ourselves in – into His victory and freedom, as we seek after Him.
Today’s verse says Jesus is the only one who can save people. So today if you feel like you need ‘saving’, if you help to get of the pit you find yourself in, look to Jesus, put your faith in Him and He will lift out of your ‘pit’ into His freedom.
Don’t be distracted, don’t look to other people and things that seek after your attention, much of these things can’t really help you, they’re things that can’t really save you – look to Jesus, the one and only one who can save you, and lift you out of the stuff you’re going through.
Cube challenge: Take at least 15 minutes today; get alone with God, ask God to help you get of the ‘pit’ you feel like you’re in today and move forward into His purpose for your life.
If you feel like you’re doing well today, have a think of someone you know who is going through some hard stuff right now; ask the Lord to move on their behalf and lift them out of the stuff they’re going through into freedom.
