I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.’ – Psalms 139:14
Sometimes we can look in the mirror and feel disappointed with the way we look. When we compare ourselves to others around us, to our friends, to the popular ones at school, college or University we can feel at times like we don’t match up, that we wish we were skinnier, had different facial features, were a different nationality or had a different personality. But the truth of today’s verse is so, so freeing when we get it in our hearts.
It says that I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. The truth is no matter how you feel about yourself and what others say about you, you are wonderfully made – God designed you and knows everything about you and is pleased with His work. God looks at you and goes ‘wow, awesome’ – He doesn’t see you as ugly, a failure or not the right shape but looks at you with a smile, you are His son or daughter. Once you get this picture of how God thinks of you, it shrinks the voices of others down to their proper size. Remember, the Lord’s opinion is the only one that really matters.
Cube Challenge: Pray today that you’d have God’s perspective and see yourself as He sees you – remember, you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
