Watch and pray

watch and pray

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” – Matthew 26:41

You ever had days or even weeks where you’ve felt so tired and drained?

You’ve been so busy with life that you’ve wanted a break from it? It may have been through the  school or college exam season or through the stress of moving house or doing loads of overtime at work.

In these moments of heavy work or stress we can be more open to temptation from the enemy when our body is weak. In these instances, it doesn’t  matter how willing our spirit is and how close we feel to God, if our body is weak, tired or over stressed we can easily fall into temptation and sin for things we’d never normally fall for.

At these times, it can be easy to just press on doing what we’re doing, but in the midst of our busyness, it’s so key to take some time and pray; look to God for strength in these moments. So today’s verse gives us some practical help to prevent temptations and falling in certain areas of our lives when our bodies are physically tired or stressed and that is to watch (be aware that in these times you can be more open to attack from the enemy) and to pray ( take time to intentionally spend time with Jesus in the midst of these seasons).

Cube Challenge: When you are tired or stressed always remember to watch and pray, be aware of the enemies’ plan and press into Jesus.
