Strong foundations

Psalm 71:5 “For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth.” (NIV)

Throughout the years of being a teenager or young adult there are so many different things you can be doing. You could make your goal socialising, clubbing, getting into relationships or pursing a hobby throughout these years.

But these too can be key years to get some good foundations build on Jesus. Today’s verse says for you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth. The writer of this verse gives us an example of someone who really met with God throughout their youth and who was really in love with Jesus. If you are a person who meets with Jesus and walks with Him, it will lay an amazing foundation for your future.

Putting Jesus at the centre of life when you’re young can also keep you from making a whole load of wrong decisions and from going down wrong paths too. Often many older people speak of how they regret some of the bad decisions they made when they were young.

Now, following Jesus and being and being really on fire for Him, doesn’t mean you have no problems, but it does mean that the creator of the Universe, Jesus Christ, walks beside you day by day, and if you let Him, He can guide you, help you and bless you through each stage of your life and give you loads of His supernatural wisdom that you need for the journey along the way.

Cube Challenge: If you feel God is stirring you why not make the decision to put Jesus at the centre of your life at the beginning of this academic year. Come on guys, go all out for Jesus this year – He will help you to run this race, trust Him!
