If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. ‘ – 1 John 1:6
“Only God can judge me” she said after she steals a packet of crisps from the corner shop. “Yes I am a Christian” he said before swearing in an argument and threatening. Both of these people may be telling the truth. It is possible to be a Christian and accidentally swear and it is true that God is our only judge. But how does it make us look to non-Christians around us. Even more often than that we do not read the bible or pray for weeks on end and keep sinning but still say we are Christians. This is not a Cubeite to make you feel bad, but just to make you think. The Bible says we represent Christ so we should act how we should expect Jesus to act.
Would Jesus really act like you? The darkness in this verse is sin. And this verse says if we say we are Christians and keep sinning without trying to change we are lying. Yes, all Christians sin from time to time but through the Holy Spirit we will change and change until we look like God.
Cube Challenge: Today Cubers; be sure to be people who walk in the light. How can we do this? It is simple, stop sinning. When we pray about that sin that we keep doing and find it so so hard to stop, God will answer our prayers and bit by bit we will stop sinning and grow closer to God. Today; run from sin, ask God for help!
