Out of trouble

‘Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.’ – Proverbs 21:23

Have you ever heard the expression, ‘keep yourself out of trouble’?

It’s a common saying you might often hear, which basically suggests we should behave in a certain way that stops us from getting into problems or from getting told off or causing harm.

That’s the kind of thing today’s verse is taking about. We should intentionally keep ourselves from getting into trouble. Today’s verse shows us that an easy way to do this is by keeping your ‘mouth and tongue’, in other words, watch what you say.

Be prayerful and intentional today, about speaking well and honoring others and also by entering into godly conversations and avoiding negative or impure ones. You may not always find this easy, but if you are willing and prayerful the Lord will help you.

Cube challenge: Ask the Lord today and the rest of this week to help you to ‘keep out of trouble’ by honoring Him and others in your conversations.
