The new you!

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”  – Galatians 2:20

You have been crucified with Christ. Did you know that? This verse is telling us that because when we are followers of Jesus the people who we used to be have died. But we have this problem; the old Mr. You or Mrs. you keeps trying to come back to life. We keep going back to this old person who is supposed to be dead. We used to be these horrible people who did things that made God angry, but we where washed clean and became Christians. How do we make sure we be the people who stay dead at the cross? The Bible tells us that Jesus has given us His authority and power when we become His followers. So that means the same way Jesus brought people back to life, tell the old You to die!

People say talking to yourself is a sign of madness but it is important that we start speaking who God says we can be over our life, it’s important that we speak to ourself encouraging words about our identity in God. Confess who God says you are over your life – don’t live by how you feel or what others say, but by who God says you can be.

Cube Challenge:  Speak God’s word over your life today; learn the power of confession. Think of 10 promises from the Bible about who God says you are and speak them over your life.
