Look again

“God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NCV)

Most people, Christian or not, have heard this famous Bible verse, John 3:16. It’s been the source of many car bumper stickers, fridge magnets and T-Shirts over the years. Yet, it’s a truth so key to the Christian faith that we can become so used to it, to the point where it no longer means much, or at least, no longer impacts us or how we live.

God wants to give a fresh perspective, a new way of looking at this verse, where we look at it and it’s like the first time we’ve seen it, so it carries a new meaning and really changes us, and we get blown away again at the craziness and sheer depth of God’s love.

Today, be sure to get back to grips with this famous verse.

This amazing truth that God loves us so, so, so, so, so much that He would send His only Son to die in our place, so we could live forever, be free from sin, free from being lost, free from purposelessness, hopeless and helplessness.

God gave us this free gift to us for no other reason than that He personally is nuts about us, He crazily loves us and wants to save us from being lost and without Him.

This is a pretty awesome truth!

Cube Challenge: Today grab a Bible or Bible app, read the whole of John chapter 3. Spend time slowly thinking about this amazing truth and as you do, ask God to show this verse (John 3:16) in a fresh way, to give you a fresh perspective on what it really means in your life.

Ask Him to show Him the awesome depth of His love, so as you read it, it changes you and you begin to shout God to the world around you.
