Know Jesus, Know Peace. No Jesus, No Peace.

“You had no hope and you did not know God. But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away from God are brought near through the blood of Christ’s death. Christ himself is our peace.” Ephesians 2: 12-14 (NCV)

Have you ever heard the saying, “know Jesus, know peace?”.

Well, this is so true; today’s verse says that Christ Himself is our peace. When we get to know Christ, we get to know the peace, joy and fullness only He can give. The word peace when its used in the Bible has a deeper meaning than our English word today. It means nothing missing, nothing broken, nothing taken away, completeness and wholeness. Even though once we didn’t have this amazing hope we need to thank God that near that through Jesus, we’ve been brought near to Him.

Yet, if we chose to live a life without Jesus at the centre of all we do, we will lack this amazing peace and this amazing life that God wants to give us. The opposite saying is also true, “No Jesus, no peace”. Without Him, there is nothing in this world that can truly make us whole, there’s nowhere else to turn to truly find forgiveness, purpose, meaning and identity other than in Him.

Cube Challenge:  Spend some time today looking back on all that God has done in your life and in the lives of others you know and thank Him, remember how you once were far off and have been brought near to God by Jesus.
