Jesus at the centre

about him

“He is the blessed and only ruler, the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords. He is the only One who never dies. He lives in light so bright no one can go near it.” 1 Timothy 6:15-16 (NCV)

Someone once said this profound statement; “keep the main thing the main thing, because that’s the main thing”. Sounds a little bit confusing, but do you get it? It’s so important we keep the main thing central in our lives. What is the main thing? Jesus.

He should be the centre of our lives, jobs, family, work, friendships and education. Challenging isn’t it? That’s how important Jesus and His message really are, He shouldn’t just be someone on the side lines of our lives, or someone we turn to when we need our prayers answered when in trouble or for when we feel a little bit religious, but He is so powerful, so awesome, that He really does demand our very all. So often we can get distracted with our relationships, families, education, with things that aren’t wrong in themselves, but can draw us from living completely consumed with Christ.

Today’s verse talks exactly about this, it shows us the sheer power of Jesus, it says that He’s the only ruler, He’s the King above all other kings, Lords, Presidents or Prime Ministers – He literally is the head of every government, power or leader in this world. But what’s even more amazing than that, is that He wants to know us personally and closely, He wants to be our King and our friend.

Cube challenge: Here’s a couple of things you can do today!

1. Spend some time reflecting about your walk with God

2. Ask yourself this question ; “is Jesus really the center of my life?”

3. Have a think about some areas in your life where you need to put Jesus first

4. Prayerfully brings these issues to God.
